The URTH Matcha Whisk (chasen) is a traditional bamboo tool used in Japanese tea ceremonies to prepare matcha with care and intention. Handcrafted with 100 fine prongs, it is designed to gently aerate the matcha, creating a smooth, creamy froth without clumping.
The chasen encourages a slower, more mindful preparation — transforming matcha from a drink into a daily ritual rooted in tradition.

Sift 1–2 teaspoons of matcha into a bowl or cup, ensuring a smooth, clump-free base. Add a splash of warm water (70–80°C). Whisk briskly in a “M” motion using your Chasen (bamboo whisk) until frothy. Top with more water, or enjoy as a latte with your favourite milk and natural sweetener. Sip slowly - it’s a ritual, not a rush. View more
Soak your chasen in warm water for 1 to 2 minutes to soften the prongs and prevent breakage. After each use, rinse the chasen gently with warm water (no soap), shake off excess moisture, and allow it to air dry upright or on a matcha whisk holder to maintain its shape.
